We’ve done the hard work for you and picked out some of our favourites, including Christmas lunches, New Year’s Eve dinners, plus festivals like Taste of Tasmania and the Mornington Peninsula’s Winefolk.
New South Wales
Hunter Valley, 8 November - 26 January
See the Hunter Valley Gardens shine for their famous Christmas Lights Spectacular. Take a stroll through the amazing light displays including the giant ‘Snowy’ the Snowman and the new White Christmas display featuring polar bears and penguins in their snow cave. It’s the perfect festive activity for the whole family, with kids rides, Santa’s Workshop and the North Pole mailbox ready to send your wishlists to the jolly man himself.
Mudgee, 25 December
How does a Christmas Day Lunch prepared by one of Australia’s top regional chefs sound? Join acclaimed chef Kim Currie as you're treated to a festive feast at the stunning Pavilion at Lowe in the heart of Mudgee. Paired with the Lowe Wines range, it’ll be a Christmas Day Lunch you’ll be boasting to everyone about.
Hastings River, 28 December
Join Cassegrain Wines for a perfect day full of festive sparkling wine and fresh seafood. Taste your way through the award winning wine, apple cider and beer range while enjoying locally sourced platters and taking in some of the best views in the Barossa Valley.
McLaren Vale, 31 December
Countdown to 2020 in style with a night of premium food and wine at Serafino Wines. Dust off your best suspenders and flapper dresses for the event’s roaring ‘20s theme and be treated to canapés, antipasto and a sit down dinner paired with the Serafino wine range. Mornington Peninsula, 7 December
Surround yourself with the best of the Mornington Peninsula’s food, wine and beer scene at Winefolk festival. Held at Red Hill Estate, the day will include live music from the likes of The Cat Empire and Ash Grunwald and plenty of local food trucks and craft beer and cider stalls.
